bun out of the oven

well folks, the satanic worm has finally emerged. after not so patiently hauling the freeloader around in my ever growing trucker gut for more than 42 weeks, eviction papers were served and she was escorted out with the aid of a pitocin drip. as you might be able to discern from the photo (i promise i will not subject you to family vacation slideshows next), she was none to happy to be kicked out. why do all babies look like drunken garden gnomes when they're not looking like evil feed tubes?

so far, this has been the longest four weeks of my life. i am substituting cookies for sleep, which is a good thing for you all since i stumbled upon one of the best vegan chocolate chocolate chip cookie recipes i've come across yet. less of a good thing for my ever expanding trucker ass.

hahah...i'm glad to see someone posting about the not-so-pretty side of pregnancy and giving birth rather than your spiritual awakening or something.

But congrats!

congrats! i sure do love my two girls, but i am DONE DONE DONE with the whole pregnancy thing. good riddance! i feel ya on the pitocin thing too, my body was too stupid to figure out what it was supposed to do and had to be forced along. your little girl looks much better than my first, who looked like a very short, purple sumo wrestler who had just lost a fight with a brooklyn boxer. i don't know if this is your first/only baby or not, but just in case, know that you're in the roughest part right now. it'll get easier. but your entire groove has just sprung a leak, there's gonna be a recovery period. best of luck! better you than me! :) ~melanie, loves her girls, but TOTALLY DONE with pregnancy and childbirth. forever.

i am notsomuch a big fan of the early babyhood/leach phase, but...my cloth diaper delivery guy told me to sign on for eight weeks before i gave the kid back. they kind of grow on you by then what with their smiles and giggles and crap.

hang in. next year you'll be dressing the kid in hilarious clothing and be running around pretending to be a superhero. it's all good.
